Level A1 (Beginner) – 40-50 recommended hours (For students with no prior knowledge or very basic knowledge.)

Level A2 (Basic) – 50-60 recommended hours (For students with basic knowledge who want to improve communication.)

Level B1 (Intermediate) – 60-80 recommended hours (For students who want to improve fluency and expand their vocabulary.)

Level B2 (Advanced) – 80-100 recommended hours (For students who want to speak fluently and accurately in different contexts.)

Level C1 (Effective operational proficiency) – 100-120 recommended hours (For students seeking to perfect their Spanish in formal and informal contexts.)

Level C2 (Mastery) – 120+ recommended hours (For students aiming to achieve near-native Spanish proficiency.)

About me and my Spanish classes

I am a Costa Rican teacher with over 25 years of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students of all levels, trained teachers, led academic programs, and created custom learning materials.

I hold academic training in first language acquisition (L1), second language learning (L2), and teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). I have also completed specialized courses through ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) and the Instituto Cervantes, which allows me to incorporate effective, research-based, and learner-centered methodologies.

I am committed to offering dynamic, rigorous, and culturally rich instruction. I believe that learning a language not only opens the door to professional and academic opportunities but also fosters intercultural understanding and meaningful human connections.

My classes focus on real and functional communication. I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs and interests, with special emphasis on conversation and interaction with native speakers. I teach Spanish entirely in Spanish, integrating vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and communication strategies in authentic, engaging contexts.
