Saturday March 17 – Sunday March 25, 2025

Play therapy workshops, Spanish language and practice seminars, agency visits, lectures with local professionals and full day excursions.

Spanish classes available for all levels and all ages.

Total of 15 CEUs may be used towards the credential of a Registered Play Therapist. More information regarding the requirements may be found at www.a4pt.org

Homestay US$ 729

1. One week of Spanish classes (20 hours)

6. Visit to a shelter for kids in Grecia

Itinerary

Week 1

Saturday March 17th
1. Arrival to Costa Rica
2. Transportation to Villas Azaleas in Grecia
3. Night: Dinner at La Casa de Miguel Restaurant

Sunday March 18th
Full day excursion to Herradura Beach and Jacó Beach.

Monday March 19th
1. Morning: 7:30 am. Placement test in the School – Spanish classes.
2. Afternoon: 12:00 pm. Walking tour of Grecia, visit the most important places around town.
3. 3:00 pm. Lecture with professor Williamson (2 CEU) Play therapy: an introduction to the topic of play therapy, including a brief history and overview of the theoretical roots to play therapy”
4. Night: Dinner at BBQ area of Villas Azaleas.
5. Homework and free time.

Tuesday March 20th
1. Morning: 8:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Spanish classes including one hour of conversation and vocabulary related to the topic of play therapy and therapy with children (1 CEU).
2. Afternoon: 12:00 pm. Latin cuisine cooking classes (lunch included)
3. 3:00 pm. Lecture with Lic. Cárol Pérez regarding play therapy with follow up discussion with professor Williamson (2 CEU) Topic: “Similarities and differences regarding play therapy”
4. Night: Dinner at La Casa de Miguel Restaurant
5. Homework and free time.

Wednesday March 21th
1. Morning: 8:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Spanish classes including one hour of conversation and vocabulary related to the topic of play therapy and therapy with children (1 CEU).
2. Afternoon: 1:30 pm. Lecture with professor Williamson (2 CEU) Topic: “Client centered non directive play therapy compared and contrasted to Cognitive Behavioral directive play therapy”
4. 4:00 pm. Dance class. Styles: salsa, merengue and cumbia!
5. Night: Dinner at La Casa de Miguel Restaurant
3. Homework and free time.

Thursday March 22th
1. Morning: 8:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Spanish classes including one hour of conversation and vocabulary related to the topic of play therapy and therapy with children (1 CEU).
2. Afternoon: 1:30 pm. Field visit to a shelter for kids with follow up debrief: professor Williamson (2 CEU)
3. Night: Dinner at La Casa de Miguel Restaurant
4. Homework and free time.

Fryday March 23th
1. Morning: 8:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Spanish classes including one hour of conversation and vocabulary related to the topic of play therapy and therapy with children (1 CEU).
2. Afternoon: Closing lecture with professor Williamson (2 CEU)
3. Farewell meal.

Saturday March 24th
Full day excursion to La Fortuna Waterfall and hot springs.
